For those of us who love hang gliding but can’t get to Rio, I highly recommend areo-towing. I am an H2 pilot from the mid-west, and unfortunately the nearest ‘hills’ are hours away.

The ingenious people out here strap the glider to the back of an ultralight plane, and they tow you up to at least 2000 ft AGL. Once you release, you search for thermals to keep you aloft. Some pilots stay up for hours and go cross country! The record at Hang Glide Chicago is over 200 miles.

There are many great ways to get into the sport. The opportunities are closer than you think.
