Hi Federico! I also only discovered authentic food when living in Mexico and I fell in love with it! I did go to San Diego and ate some real Mexican food, quite a change from the regular tex mex we are surrounded by. Where in Mexico are you at?

Yes! But I was only eating mangos with chile! I was hooked on it. But now that I've been back for four years, my taste buds aren't as accustomed to chile :(

Hi Tanya

Good post. I am currently in Mexico and food is quite good as well, yet after some time traditional cheap food tends to be very much the same: meat or shrimp with some veggies inside a tortilla, wrapped one way or another. However once you start eating food that requires knife and fork things get interesting. Yet my favourite of all is ceviche. Sure, it is typical in all central and south america, but it is really great.

PS Did you ever get used to having chilli added to every fruit??

Cheers,

Federico
