What a lot of people realize is that just because you are alone doesn't mean you are lonely. There's a big difference. You touched on a lot of the great points about solo travel. I've done it for a few trips now and I've realized I actually prefer it. I also wrote a post on it a while ago and we had many of the same points: To Go or Not to Go: Backpacking Solo

We completely agree with you! The people is what makes the experience. You could be in the most beautiful place in the world but it wouldn’t feel the same without meeting the right people! The thing is that when you’re traveling, you meet lots of solo backpackers. It’s only once you go back home where you feel that people don’t understand why someone would want to travel alone. And this is what motivates us to keep on traveling solo… to meet more people like us.

Yes. Even for men, sometimes people think I’m crazy for spending a whole month backpacking alone.
I can’t understand why it sounds so crazy for some people.
I really admire the women who do that as well. After traveling around a little bit I have an opinion that the world is sometimes dangerous but there are tons of nice people around it and the risk for meeting these nice people worths the trouble I might get in occasionally one day.
