I am currently planning a year RTW backpacking trip. All the things you have listed I have actually gone through my head. Ill put my responses to them…lol!!!
1. I am currently getting rid of alot of my belongings and am not going to miss any of them.
2.Um I am going to miss them but I am more excited to find out how many amazing other people I am going to meet along the way.
3.Oh I HATE my job & if i could I would quit now but cant. So not going to miss this either…lol!
4. My routine is boring wake up school then sleep or wake up work then sleep. Not going to miss that either!
5. I am so single its sad. I do want a man though…lol!!Maybe Ill find him on the road…
6. Oh travel is the only thing I want!!!!

All that is holding me back is $$$ and I am working hard for it!!! I have my plan and am going for it!

I have struggled with this for a while. I would like to go out and travel for a few months, but it doesn’t seem practical to leave behind my job, fiance (in law school), dog, friends, all my bills, etc. I’m not sure if my job would even let me take a career break, or that if I quit, that I could find another job upon returning. I’ve always been so pragmatic that it’s hard to seriously consider doing something like that, even though I really want to. I could kick myself in the butt for not doing this right after college, when it would have been so much easier. I don’t know why I was in such a hurry to get to the real world!
