Top places to see in Turkey
Turkey is a nation with plenty to see and do – from sandy beaches to the mountains of the far-east corner of the country. It’s a country where you’ll never feel bored. There a few main sites that you need to explore.
Ephesus
Drive over to the city of Ephesus, where the home of ancient Roman ruins remains. The Temple of Artemis, which is better known as one of the wonders of the world, is still in very good condition to view. Explore the surrounding ruins of the 13th century B.C city and you will be amazed in how this collection is breathtaking. Mind you, it will take a full day to explore these ruins.
Sumela Monastery
When I first heard about this site, I couldn’t believe how hidden and inaccessible it’s located. Once I knew it was built into the sheer cliff face, I knew this was a place I wanted to add to my bucket list. The monastery dates back to the 4th century, where a Greek monk found it. It’s impressive, beautiful, and charming inside and out, which is why many visitors take the 40 minutes hike through the thick bush to explore this place. The price to visit is very cheap considering how few people take the chance to climb up to.
Hierapolis
Known as a World Heritage Site, the ancient city of Hierapolis is one Turkey’s most popular tourist destinations. The unreal landscape, of sheer white gloss is not only beautiful to see but also breathtaking. It’s the only place in the world that holds such unique landscape. A trip to see this amazing “scared city” is trip you’ll forget.
These are the top places to see in Turkey, and they aren’t too expensive to visit. You can get cheap deals to Turkey during anytime of the year. That’s one great thing about Turkey.
